A think tank established for the creation of “closed, holistic systems.”
HOLISTIC SOLUTIONS THINK TANK NEWSLETTER
Updates and Defining Elements of the Holistic Solutions Think Tank
June 6, 2013
Drafted and distributed by Yasha Melanie Husain, Director, www.closedholisticsystems.com
This is the Holistic Solutions Think Tank’s first, official newsletter, highlighting ‘news and updates,’ and additional copyrighted material, I hope you will enjoy reviewing, and providing feedback for.
The think tank is still in need of some early investors - any and all ideas that may contribute to raising investment dollars, for the think tank’s efforts, are appreciated.
I can forward to anyone interested, a two-year budget outlining the anticipated expenses of the organization, in its first years of operation.
Certainly, the work takes on the creation of a closed, holistic systems Integrative, Holistic Health Care system, that's proposed to be an international networking of physicians, dependent on healing immunological problems, that incorporates the wisdom of both Ayurveda and Enneagram, and that of 'Whole Brain Thinking', into a modern medicine that is truly holistic. While the featured proposals of the think tank are written as if they are chiefly American in scope, each has its remarkable international component, and each is intended for international adoption.
The featured proposals include an American Reconstruction Department, inspired by reconstruction in Japan, which now houses the HSTT, ‘Charting the Course’ closed, holistic system education proposal, for whole brain thinking; the Redevelopment of Cities and Rural Areas Authority – Staying True to Our Heritage (RCRA), for the upliftment of the poor, and the Integrative, Holistic Health Care system.
For more detail on the work of the think tank, please read on regarding the brainstorming and developments associated to the overall work toward the creation of ‘closed, holistic systems,’ the think tank espouses.
‘CHARTING THE COURSE’ EDUCATION PROPOSAL UPDATESecretary Arne Duncan’s office, of the Department of Education, has begun an initial review of this proposal, and forwarded it, for further consideration, to a wing of the Education Department. The HSTT closed, holistic systems education proposal has now been reviewed by numerous other luminaries, including Dr. Francis Collins, Director of the National Institutes of Health, who has acknowledged receipt of it, and offered appreciation for the writing.
THE AMERICAN RECONSTRUCTION DEPARTMENT PANEL
The panel, like a team gathered together, would be comprised of three experts for each category, per wing of the panel. Above the three experts per category, will always be a dedicated, global holistic thinker, whose career trajectory has been to complement the three experts, who themselves understand the whole, and their work in light of the international framework, but who carry specialties specific to a nation and region.
Each wing of the Department will have still another leader, who is a global, holistic thinker, whose focus is that of the wing, and its categories, not a category.
In one example, for the “clean energy” wing, its categories would be listed as 1) wind, 2) solar, 3) geothermal, etc., and its individual panel members would be matched to the panel’s needs, accordingly, as described above.
The entirety of the panel, once selected, would convene with their individual wings, and, intermittently, would be broken apart into categories for categorical development, for a period of two months, before roundtable panel meetings, with the entire panel, would begin to take place every week.
At the weekly meetings, all panel members would participate, and in a holistic form of ‘systems mapping’, for which each wing has begun to envision the whole as it might be encompassed by the map.
The map, in time, would detail one overall, graduated system, for which wing and category members contribute their ideas, which must become of the sum, which is greater than its parts, i.e. universalism. Universalism might be considered that which meets the overall needs of the planetary system(s), not only of the biosphere, and it mirrors holism.
For the mechanics of the Department to work, Congress would act as a liaison, including with its constituents, and it would be responsible, individual Congress members, for writing relevant legislation. The business community would also assist in implementing the findings of the panel, which would continually serve as guidelines for reconstruction and development.
Meanwhile, Congress, and the business community, and everyday people alike, on a continual basis, can provide valuable feedback to panel members.
For this to all unfold, the Holistic Solutions Think Tank, responsible for issuing reports that match the criteria of the think tank to the work of the panel, could help communicate the ideas and projects of the panel to the media. The media, therefore, could more easily, and accurately, communicate the outpouring of work by the panel, to the public.
The work of the think tank would in no way infringe upon freedom of speech, but would simply be the work of that as a liaison, and impartial intermediary, delivering both findings and reports.
THE AMERICAN RECONSTRUCTION DEPARTMENT UPDATES
Holistic Solutions Think Tank’s Law Reform Suggestions
The HSTT’s law reform ideas, listed on the site, and just below, will now be incorporated as a separate wing of the American Reconstruction Department. The ideas will utilize the Pivot System (described in a separate section of this newsletter), with ‘truth’ at its center. From the website: “Open an institution in America, and propose similar institutions open around the globe, to reestablish law in accordance with the universal truths of natural law, which we can witness have developed into authentic or replete constitutional and international law, which should, once examined for its authenticity and productivity, provide the bases for the continuation of all law and the reform of the law school experience. Law should be based strictly on truth and procedure and also try truth, which can be determined by way of purely analytical “jurisconsults,” who don't have separate motives, in combination with schooled judges in the “art” of psychology (not psychology's rules). Law, on other words, would, as a reflection of natural law, or universal truth, be steeped only in “observation of truth,” not judgment of supposed truth, which will immediately graduate to judges making what we can call “discoveries” versus verdicts, while more arbitration (e.g. amercements) will be resultingly handled out of courts and by the people, now also hopefully schooled, by natural extension, in the logic of “observation versus judgment” and “art of psychology,” or, in both instances, truth. Truth shall itself become a law by which we must abide. Law and precedence simultaneously are built around procedure more so than in other “field areas” and must in that case be taken by dictum and not as metaphor. When we loosen the truths of universal truth or law we arrive at, for example, certain civil laws that do not answer the requirements of the very roots of law, which is a consequence of a fragmented system.”
Holistic Solutions Think Tank’s Media Reform Suggestions
The ideas on media reform, espoused by the HSTT, will now be incorporated as a wing in the American Reconstruction Department. The ideas will utilize the Pivot System, specifically centered on the roundtable notion, useful for enhancement of media and entertainment streams, always creating, or recreating, truth, or love, and, of course, big picture thinking, which is an ever-present notion I’ve elaborated on separately in my work. The media reform ideas revolve around poignant interviews and scenes that contain the heart unfolding in conversation, usually that’s in-depth, or sequential, taking place in more than one interview or scene, which are also “unproduced,” say as in a documentarian’s work, or directed to produce an honest effect.
However, the ideas for media reform don’t only revolve around the roundtable notion, but the idea that people you see on television, and in the movies, and reflected in the written word, or broadcast on the Internet and radio, need not have a quote-on-quote polished public image, but can more often in earnest be original voices offering important and relevant truths.
For example, we, many of us, in the television and popular magazine audiences, love the interviews of Doris Kearns Goodwin. We enjoy her heart unfolding in the books on American Presidents she’s written, and are comforted by knowing her heart, as we do, this way, when we watch her in interviews.
We’re comforted by her because we know of her heart through her work, and then we continuously see her heart in action, or watch it actually unfold anew, in engaging, holistic interviews, that draw on positive, enlightening connections.
The heart need not necessarily first be represented in a long-format book or feature film. There can be many more people than accomplished writers and artists, such as indigenous peoples, politicians and educators, we watch the heart of unfold, in an in-depth conversation that’s unproduced, and reveals truths, which inspire and heal, via the art of conversation, and the roundtable notion, in the media and in entertainment, who, as suggested, don’t always need to have polished public images, or be produced.
Both interviewers and directors, and those who are guests or actors, in just a handful of examples, can fortuitously, continuously, maintain the whole, by way of the art of conversation, in which the heart is revealed and unfolds, in front of diverse media streams, with the sharing, also, of new information.
Holistic Solutions Think Tank’s Business Development Suggestions
The Holistic Solutions Think Tank promotes holistic business development and will now incorporate this area into an additional wing of the American Reconstruction Department. Again, business development will utilize the Pivot System, as can and will all field areas of the think tank.Business development of the Holistic Solutions Think Tank involves more open and democratic business practices, where for profit and nonprofit fall into line. Business leaders have responsibility to society to fulfill a pledge which will require new bylaws and laws, as per equity and human rights protections, civil rights, sustainability and environmentalism, and sustainability also incorporating protection of human and environmental health, and quality of production and design of goods (“quality” being holistic, including that it’s based on timeless principles, that spell, from “cradle-to-cradle,” zero loss of “energy balance” that the planet necessitates, and in line with progressively applied precautionary principle, or preventative health and environmental measures. Though, design, being holistic, would also, in time, make precautionary principle irrelevant).
Business development via closed, holistic systems would, the think tank suggests, also involve meetings and deals, at developmental stages, becoming open, which in turn would spell an increasingly educated populace, since not only shareholders of the larger firms, and corporations, but all potential customers, could or would learn, in advance, the nuts and bolts of things like: developing mergers, product choices and design choices, directions in farming trends and directions in energy production, in two latter examples, so that the whole citizenry can also be responsible consumers and stewards, providing continual feedback on business development as a part of that modality.
All regular business would be a part of the shift toward more open and democratic business development practices. Banks would be a part of the reforms or changes, too, since banks rely on the gold standard as a part of their operating systems, which affects our international and national economics, and is a part of business.
Still another example of holistic, business development, beyond meetings and deals being made public, via websites, and the media, would be that, increasingly, knowledge of transfers of funds for businesses, when above a certain amount, would too be made available to the general public.
Integrative, Holistic Health Care NetworkThe Holistic Solutions Think Tank adds the further description of the Integrative, Holistic Health Care Network:
The network will rely on the wisdom of: 1) Ayurveda, the ancient medicine. 2) Enneagram, which the think tank proposes be understood also via biomedicine and physics, and including for the purposes of holistic medicine. That is, for example, that cell-life can be rejuvenated via diet and lifestyle practices incumbent in holistic Ayurveda – cells may be affected by temperatures, too, which can heal weakened cells and burn off mutated cells, since temperature causes rise, and then rejuvenation, incumbent upon temperature and cellular properties. 3) The “Whole-Brain Holistic Spectrum.”
These three sources relate to one another in terms of their core wisdom always being representative of the other, with the other, science, in this instance, being encased within each science’s, or way’s, core. Ayurveda, Enneagram and the Whole-Brain Holistic Spectrum, rely on a constitutional, representative core wisdom that is comprised of the constitutional whole which is representative of nature’s diverse laws. Ayurvedic science is chiefly a reflection of “touch,” that is, in a hopefully cunning metaphor, ‘fire to the flame’; Enneagram science is chiefly a reflection of the psycho-spiritual realm, which Jan Smuts described as the “inner creative flame,” which moves and directs us as we evolve. The Whole-Brain Holistic Spectrum science is chiefly a reflection of ‘how we know’, and our internal, systems mapping, or “the mind’s balance,” for which we are situated, like in the other sciences, along a universal spectrum of understanding, though we optimistically, and opportunistically, attain to whole-brain understanding and mastery, with assistance from and affinity to our personal core. Even while each one of these sciences reflects the body, soul and mind, there is a meaning and purpose behind each science, which can and does add to future direction, and, specifically, here, the direction of health care.
A SENSE OF URGENCY:
THE REDEVELOPMENT OF CITIES AND RURAL AREAS AUTHORITY – STAYING TRUE TO OUR HERITAGE (RCRA)
This brief correspondence was sent to the White House, in late May, in an effort to relay, to the President, the relevance and timeliness of the RCRA proposal:
Dear White House Staff:
This message is to confirm the President received my 13-page fax, of May 16, 2013, pertaining to the Holistic Solutions Think Tank. I would like very much, as a pressing matter, for the President to consider the merit and worth of the Redevelopment of Cities and Rural Areas Authority – Staying True to Our Heritage (RCRA) proposal, which is referred to in that fax sent, and is located on my think tank’s website, www.closedholisticsystems.com
The RCRA’s purpose is the upliftment of poor neighborhoods, and individual lives, across the country.
I would like for the President to be aware of the proposal, on the one hand, since I think it would mark remarkable change to be implemented, and not only via it alone, but having it play out in tandem with improved cost-of-living expenses issued, or welfare, to clients of social service offices, which regularly provide SNAP and Medicaid benefits.
The Redevelopment Authority could pay for itself, in part, via public funding combined with future earnings or profits, from the economically improved, or restored, neighborhood / livelihood. (Improving welfare might, tacitly, be an immediate and sound stepping-stone to the RCRA, and, now, importantly, versus years into the future.)
If we can tackle our poverty issues head-on, we can produce an overall atmosphere of progress and change that will issue in, hopefully, the other proposed reform of the Holistic Solutions Think Tank, including the ideas contained in the ‘Charting the Course’ education proposal and American Reconstruction Department proposal, both of which I faxed you details about. Secretary Arne Duncan’s office has reviewed and forwarded my education proposal.
Please do ensure the President received my 13-page fax of May 16, 2013, and in any case, please do refer him again to the think tank’s website, which details the RCRA.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Yasha Melanie Husain
Director

(518) 779 9777*Separate letters of correspondence and queries were sent to a handful of government and media professionals, and academics, regarding the need for the RCRA proposal, to uplift poor neighborhoods, and individual livelihoods.
A SUGGESTED FIRST STEP FOR IMPLEMENTING THE RCRA
In a first step toward implementation of redevelopment efforts, make the practical move of ameliorating problems with what we have called welfare in the past, which I would suggest changing to become known as “Cost-of-living Benefits”, so that Social Services more completely satisfy cost-of-living requirements.
Immediate interim improvements to Social Services, to allay suffering caused by persistent poverty, would include:
“Cost-of-living Benefits” per person = $100 per week for cost-of-living expenses; $300 cash, food benefits; $200 for subsidized rent, including utilities, with appropriate housing coming available through creative profit-sharing structures and opening of vacated, livable spaces and affordable, alternative housing structures (a.k.a. Superadobe architectures, www.calearth.org, which people can even build for themselves on available land).
Still provide services appropriate to expecting mothers as separate program within Cost-of-living Benefits.
Provide for immediate legal proceedings to defend against ongoing incrimination of poor or their unwanted or unwarranted medical prescriptions and treatment.
Provide education benefits toward the attainment of certificates and college degrees, both, for recipients of Cost-of-living Benefits, but don’t require recipients of Benefits work to qualify for the help they receive. Allow them to grow individually by way of their own individual liberties and choices.
Provide need-based Cost-of-living Benefits to those who work but don’t earn an income that completely supports their cost-of-living.
Provide emergency insurance for accidents, grieving, and other unexpected emergencies, to protect the financial liberty of the individual.
Hotels could meanwhile provide a certain number of rooms free per night for “invisible” and temporary homeless who need an immediate shelter and are not in the Cost-of-living Benefits program as of today. These hotel rooms could be available on an ongoing basis for stricken individuals requiring safety and shelter. A pamphlet could be made available by the city which lists the hotels which offer rooms to those in need. When those in need go to a hotel, they may be told they are not required to provide their legal name, only give a reason as to why they seek the shelter for the night, and that there is police protection in need of an emergency, with, otherwise, regular hotel security.
At the Department of Social Services, offices and websites should be welcoming, as in a family atmosphere. Recipients shouldn’t feel like they’re treated less than, like they are a child when they are adult, let alone that they are affiliated with any criminality or mental illness. (Offices can in the future forego fingerprinting, for example, and be more open and comfortable settings.)
Cost-of-living Benefits paperwork one can fill out online or in-person also shouldn’t make one feel set apart for being poor.
Meanwhile, stores those receiving Benefits might frequent ought to be increasingly encouraged to be like ambassadors of healthy-by-design shopping, even as, overall, there is a push for more “economical” shopping to serve a median income.
Health care
There would also need to be immediate access to health care for all receiving services of any kind via continued development of holistic health care clinics, which are thorough, but serving basic health care needs, even as their physicians may opt to refer patients to specialists.
The clinics would include dentists and obgyns.
Medicines would include comprehensive and preventative, Ayurveda.
THE PIVOT SYSTEMBelow is a sketch of the Pivot System that may help create closed, holistic systems and or describe their intended development and organizing direction, which can be used in all areas the think tank covers. In the example of one’s culture and its society, and its development, the Pivot System could feature at its center point, or center pivot point, a culture, perhaps, and emanating from it, firstly, the universal laws of love, respect, truth, understanding, forgiveness and creativity, in that culture, which produce the concept that there shall be no intended harm or hurt. From there, more specifics about the culture, stemming from its core truths, or universals, can be drawn, to help paint the picture, using the Pivot System, of current possible trajectories, with understood affinities, reaching eventually, for example, architectures like Superadobe, and futuristic, solar cities, a people may have an affinity for and adopt, also in some instances because they were created by people from or in touch with the sun and sand of their region, the Middle East, in this example.
By Yasha Husain, www.closedholisticsystems.com
“The Pivot System” applies to all field areas of the Holistic Solutions Think Tank listed and unlisted, and subjects, or wings, under the proposal, The American Reconstruction Department, and describes firstly a subject-areas’ foundational laws, though the Pivot System then, by nature, expands on these foundations.
The Pivot System contains a center law, which is a universal or representative of a universal, from which the center law, or universal truth, expands, first pivots, forms a connection, and then expands again, in pivots, orbits and evolutions. With each pivot, and orbit, and evolution, there is consecutively present the inherent wisdom or unfoldment of the Enneagram, which I’ve written about separately. Graphically, the Pivot System would appear like a ball or circle in the center, and at points around the center and approaching each new position, where there are additional laws and ideas, and truths, balls or circles would also appear to represent the motion. Connecting the circles or points would be stokes or lines.
The pivot system is derived from the understanding of law, specifically natural law and universal law, but stemming to constitutional, international and commercial, as well as civil, law, each able to experience reform, and also with the help of the Pivot System. The Pivot System is additionally inspired by the mobility inherent in the Enneagram symbol.
Though the Pivot System is derived from thoughts on law, its creator saw it can be used in all field areas, which makes sense since it’s inspired by both law and Enneagram, universal constructs.
It can be applied, for example, to the law, economics, international development, education, farming, science, psychology, law enforcement, medicine, photography, architecture and building, media, anthropology/sociology, systems thinking and more.
In law, truth would be at a center point, at the next pivot(s) universal, natural laws that emanate from the law of truth, and then moving forward more specifically in terms of the law, with each successive position, laws shall be derived from original, universal truths.
Culturally, and for development purposes after a crisis, a culture might be at a center point, and then truths derived from it in order to understand its core needs.
In media, for example, the roundtable would be a center point of a Pivot System, and around it, at the first and successive positions or pivots, truths derived that inform climate. So in the first pivot may be open and truthful conversation, resolution, creativity, spontaneity, love, understanding, entertainment, just as examples. Becoming more expansive and with increased utility, the Pivot System might eventually describe the universals or tenets of say a motion picture’s scenes evoking things like truth and emotion, holistic understanding, love and laughter, and resolution or understanding achieved by mastery of communication.
In a business or organizational setting, the central theme of a business or organization, for the long-term, and for the temporary, and short-term, as the business shifts directions, or changes, can be represented as or by the central point from which all else pivots in relation.
In education, the student could become the center point of a Pivot System. His or her holistic teacher would occupy the next pivot, but that pivot as an orbit would also represent the special connection between the teacher and student, and in terms of both the academics and their “mentoring” connection. The center pivot could detail the main and overlapping subject-areas the student will need to learn, with the student’s strengths and weaknesses in each highlighted, even while along the same path you see the student’s unique interests and skills. At the next evolution, following multiple more pivots and orbits from the teacher-student connection, progress in the “lab” and “individualized special project” (see my “Charting the Course” closed, holistic systems education proposal, available at www.closedholisticsystems.com) is described. Pivots and orbits to the next “evolution,” show the overlapping between subject-areas, and the student’s affinities to the overlapping subject-areas, as well as the evolvement of his or her unique interests and skills, and progress in the lab and individualized special project. The student then reaches by way of pivots and orbits an evolution in which he or she has graduated to the point where he or she occupies the length of an evolution with unique interests and skills, now graduated, the student feeling free to think as per a new level of sophistication and understanding.
GANDHI’S WISH FULFILLED:A UNIVERSAL CHARTER OF HUMAN DUTIES
A proposed Universal Charter of Human Duties, by Yasha Husain, www.closedholisticsystems.com
This is only a draft of a “Universal Charter of Human Duties,” which Gandhi proposed we ought to have at the imminent signing of the United Nations Charter at the San Francisco Conference, to which he was invited.
It, not so ironically, might make you think of the legendary series, Star Trek. That’s what it began to make me think of, though I wasn’t a series buff….
Please let me know if you would add or subtract any duties from the list!
1. Create and keep a benevolent planet
2. Eradicate poverty
3. Sovereignty for all, individual, national and international. Include, and make it official:
“International Sovereignty: Right of the World”4. Nature protected - by way of nature & closed, holistic systems.
5. Create and keep closed, holistic systems, universally.
6. Truth as an understood law of nature and way, that is enforceable.
7. Carrying out of needed church reform.
LINKED MEDIA PROPOSALS
Following are individual show proposals, by Yasha Husain, intended for television, Internet and radio broadcasts, that may also serve as templates for what are intended Holistic Solutions Think Tank media reforms:
World Leaders Meet
Each week, an hour-long show entitled, “World Leaders Meet,” will begin with a brief introduction by the show’s host of the guests to be featured in the coming hour.
Following, in a private but welcoming setting reminiscent of the Charlie Rose roundtable, world leaders will engage in conversation, in real face-to-face meetings, for two half-hours, or a full hour.
Two or more political leaders, including heads-of-state, will meet, depending on their political alliance(s), and, too, the times’ changing dynamics.
A Producer will be called in whose responsibility it is to seek out the leaders with the most pertinent and intriguing conversations to be had.
The conversation that unfolds will be engaging and revealing, enlightening talk, that’s going to be funny, at times, and per chance, sad, at others.
Ultimately, the show will feature the political thinker’s thinking mind, as it engages in conversation, which unfolds, during the course of the show, amongst peers, without the pressure of either a podium or script.
The show could be broadcast, internationally, across a broad range of channels, on television, via the Internet, and on the radio.
Gaviotas: A Holistic Solution
A weekly roundtable that features “real” people from around the globe, who discuss issues in order to arrive at holistic solutions, that’s inspired by the story of Gaviotas, as told in Gaviotas, A Village to Reinvent the World, by Alan Weisman.
At Gaviotas, every Sunday, the community gathered together to discuss any pertinent developments, including disagreements that may have cropped up. By the end of the meeting, resolve would have been reached, both on enlightening and relevant developments, and on the mending or healing of wounds, or disagreements.
For a portion of the meeting, there would be live music sung and performed using, even, homemade instruments.
The reinvented “village,” Gaviotas, also featured handmade inventions for solar and wind energy production and distribution.
It’s a profound setting, insightful for its ways - a blissful village setting, that’s described in Weisman’s book.
It’s arguably inspired by the art of conversation, which unfolds, at least weekly, in a community setting, in order to at once engage the whole community, and tend to it.
The show, an hour-long, could feature representatives of communities around the world, whether they are “indigenous” or more attached to the industrialized world, in order that the show seek and participate in resolution-making.
The setting of Gaviotas, as presented in Weisman’s book, would be extrapolated upon to create this weekly roundtable of world peoples meeting to resolve and communicate their pressing issues.
Inner Creative Flame
With a host to interviewee(s) format, this hour-long talk show covers many of the issues also addressed by the Holistic Solutions Think Tank, and covered in the Director of the think tank’s book series on holism, including but not limited to discussions pertaining to subtle knowledge and its increasing relevance. The host of the show would be the Director of the Holistic Solutions Think Tank, Yasha Melanie Husain. *For more on who would become potential guests on the show, review Yasha’s books and think tank website for inspiration.
