SOFT POWER, FROM A CONVERSATION ABOUT SOFT AND HARD KNOWLEDGE
The HSTT website will soon detail closed, holistic and pivot systems describing soft power and soft and hard knowledge. Soft power, as HSTT defines it, originally came to be when the think tank’s Director was inspired by the idea of leadership stemming from the vaidya, or Ayurvedic doctor, and the political leader, or legal person, of village life in India.
Soft power is political and diplomatic and reaches to the heart and pulse of every nation, city or village. It’s to be a means of communicating and leading for and by all, however, while particular people may choose politics as their vocation or profession. Conversely, while soft power shapes politics naturally, hard power is the mapping by which we understand political nature technically, since the birth of contract law, and via written law, and also defense and law enforcement. If soft power is activated correctly, there should never be a need for demonstrations of war or force.
In terms of brain science, soft knowledge might be best understood as psychology, what we understand by way of senses, and experiential understanding, which becomes implicit, while intuiting the hard knowledge of brain science involves mapping the neurons and structures of the physical brain.
You don’t have soft knowledge without the intuiting of the hard knowledge, and yet we sense and comprehend the soft knowledge with and without experimentation, and can not have either, the soft or hard knowledge, without the other. While our senses and knowing allow us to understand and utilize the soft power by way of understanding and experimentation, both soft and hard knowledge are substantiated by our minds, albeit, we may choose to study the hard knowledge of a subject in detail, and for the same token, the soft knowledge too. Both forms of knowledge can be substantiated and are.
For example, we can not have love and understanding without our neurons acting, but we can not map and understand neurons in terms of love and understanding without first sensing and knowing what are love and understanding.
SHOW IDEAS OF HOLISTIC SOLUTIONS THINK TANK, PROPOSED
The following message was sent to television producers of nonfiction content for consideration:
Please do take a look at the following show ideas and let me know if you have an interest in producing them.
The following show ideas, "World Leaders Meet," "Gaviotas: A Holistic Solution" and "An Inner Creative Flame," are drafted and distributed by Yasha Melanie Husain, Director, Holistic Solutions Think Tank, www.closedholisticsystems.com.
World Leaders Meet
Each week, an hour-long show entitled, “World Leaders Meet,” will begin with a brief introduction by the show’s host of the guests to be featured in the coming hour.
Following, in a private but welcoming setting reminiscent of the Charlie Rose roundtable, world leaders will engage in conversation, in real face-to-face meetings, for two half-hours, or a full hour.
Two or more political leaders, including heads-of-state, will meet, depending on their political alliance(s), and, too, the times’ changing dynamics.
A Producer will be called in whose responsibility it is to seek out the leaders with the most pertinent and intriguing conversations to be had.
The conversation that unfolds will be engaging and revealing, enlightening talk, that’s going to be funny, at times, and per chance, sad, at others.
Ultimately, the show will feature the political thinker’s thinking mind, as it engages in conversation, which unfolds, during the course of the show, amongst peers, without the pressure of either a podium or script.
The show could be broadcast, internationally, across a broad range of channels, on television, via the Internet, and on the radio.
Gaviotas: A Holistic Solution
A weekly roundtable that features “real” people from around the globe, who discuss issues in order to arrive at holistic solutions, that’s inspired by the story of Gaviotas, as told in Gaviotas, A Village to Reinvent the World, by Alan Weisman.
At Gaviotas, every Sunday, the community gathered together to discuss any pertinent developments, including disagreements that may have cropped up. By the end of the meeting, resolve would have been reached, both on enlightening and relevant developments, and on the mending or healing of wounds, or disagreements.
For a portion of the meeting, there would be live music sung and performed using, even, homemade instruments.
The reinvented “village,” Gaviotas, also featured handmade inventions for solar and wind energy production and distribution.
It’s a profound setting, insightful for its ways - a blissful village setting, that’s described in Weisman’s book.
It’s arguably inspired by the art of conversation, which unfolds, at least weekly, in a community setting, in order to at once engage the whole community, and tend to it.
The show, an hour-long, could feature representatives of communities around the world, whether they are “indigenous” or more attached to the industrialized world, in order that the show seek and participate in resolution-making.
The setting of Gaviotas, as presented in Weisman’s book, would be extrapolated upon to create this weekly roundtable of world peoples meeting to resolve and communicate their pressing issues.
Inner Creative Flame
With a host to interviewee(s) format, this hour-long talk show covers many of the issues also addressed by the Holistic Solutions Think Tank, and covered in the Director of the think tank’s book series on holism, including but not limited to discussions pertaining to subtle knowledge and its increasing relevance. The host of the show would be the Director of the Holistic Solutions Think Tank, Yasha Melanie Husain. *For more on who would become potential guests on the show, review Yasha’s books and think tank website for inspiration.Additional programming conceptualization for Inner Creative Flame:
The show will feature people and their unique understanding and path, describing what inspires and drives them, however, with each episode referencing, as part of the unfolding conversation between guest and host, accumulated soft or subtle knowledge from relevant: 1. Traditions and their origins. For example, architecture, health care, religion, spirituality and art. 2. Places and their histories, including from whatever relevant topographical and geographical understanding and information there is. 3. Arts and muses. 4. Family and lineages, and cultural ethnicities. 5. Bodies of work. There will be one to four hosts.
The first ten episodes will describe current affairs and our understanding of the usefulness of soft power.
Guests to be featured: Holistic Farmers of developed and developing countries, with emphasis on developing world; Tribal leaders and families; Anthropologists/Archeologists (international); Painters and Poets; Lawyers and Businessmen (paths); Integrative, Holistic Doctors/Thereapists/Vets; Religious leaders; Scientists (with unique understanding); Architects (international and holistic); Politiciansand Teachers; Restaurant Owners and Chefs; MilitaryLeaders; Filmmakers and Actors; and even Animals
REPEAT FROM HOLISTIC SOLUTIONS THINK TANK NEWSLETTER JUNE 2013
A SENSE OF URGENCY:
THE REDEVELOPMENT OF CITIES AND RURAL AREAS AUTHORITY – STAYING TRUE TO OUR HERITAGE (RCRA)
This brief correspondence was sent to the White House, in late May, in an effort to relay, to the President, the relevance and timeliness of the RCRA proposal:
Dear White House Staff:
This message is to confirm the President received my 13-page fax, of May 16, 2013, pertaining to the Holistic Solutions Think Tank. I would like very much, as a pressing matter, for the President to consider the merit and worth of the Redevelopment of Cities and Rural Areas Authority – Staying True to Our Heritage (RCRA) proposal, which is referred to in that fax sent, and is located on my think tank’s website, www.closedholisticsystems.com
The RCRA’s purpose is the upliftment of poor neighborhoods, and individual lives, across the country.
I would like for the President to be aware of the proposal, on the one hand, since I think it would mark remarkable change to be implemented, and not only via it alone, but having it play out in tandem with improved cost-of-living expenses issued, or welfare, to clients of social service offices, which regularly provide SNAP and Medicaid benefits.
The Redevelopment Authority could pay for itself, in part, via public funding combined with future earnings or profits, from the economically improved, or restored, neighborhood / livelihood. (Improving welfare might, tacitly, be an immediate and sound stepping-stone to the RCRA, and, now, importantly, versus years into the future.)
If we can tackle our poverty issues head-on, we can produce an overall atmosphere of progress and change that will issue in, hopefully, the other proposed reform of the Holistic Solutions Think Tank, including the ideas contained in the ‘Charting the Course’ education proposal and American Reconstruction Department proposal, both of which I faxed you details about. Secretary Arne Duncan’s office has reviewed and forwarded my education proposal.
Please do ensure the President received my 13-page fax of May 16, 2013, and in any case, please do refer him again to the think tank’s website, which details the RCRA.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Yasha Melanie Husain
Director

A SUGGESTED FIRST STEP FOR IMPLEMENTING THE RCRA
In a first step toward implementation of redevelopment efforts, make the practical move of ameliorating problems with what we have called welfare in the past, which I would suggest changing to become known as “Cost-of-living Benefits”, so that Social Services more completely satisfy cost-of-living requirements.
Immediate interim improvements to Social Services, to allay suffering caused by persistent poverty, would include:
“Cost-of-living Benefits” per person = $100 per week for cost-of-living expenses; $300 cash, food benefits; $200 for subsidized rent, including utilities, with appropriate housing coming available through creative profit-sharing structures and opening of vacated, livable spaces and affordable, alternative housing structures (a.k.a. Superadobe architectures, www.calearth.org, which people can even build for themselves on available land).
Still provide services appropriate to expecting mothers as separate program within Cost-of-living Benefits.
Provide for immediate legal proceedings to defend against ongoing incrimination of poor or their unwanted or unwarranted medical prescriptions and treatment.
Provide education benefits toward the attainment of certificates and college degrees, both, for recipients of Cost-of-living Benefits, but don’t require recipients of Benefits work to qualify for the help they receive. Allow them to grow individually by way of their own individual liberties and choices.
Provide need-based Cost-of-living Benefits to those who work but don’t earn an income that completely supports their cost-of-living.
Provide emergency insurance for accidents, grieving, and other unexpected emergencies, to protect the financial liberty of the individual.
Hotels could meanwhile provide a certain number of rooms free per night for “invisible” and temporary homeless who need an immediate shelter and are not in the Cost-of-living Benefits program as of today. These hotel rooms could be available on an ongoing basis for stricken individuals requiring safety and shelter. A pamphlet could be made available by the city which lists the hotels which offer rooms to those in need. When those in need go to a hotel, they may be told they are not required to provide their legal name, only give a reason as to why they seek the shelter for the night, and that there is police protection in need of an emergency, with, otherwise, regular hotel security.
At the Department of Social Services, offices and websites should be welcoming, as in a family atmosphere. Recipients shouldn’t feel like they’re treated less than, like they are a child when they are adult, let alone that they are affiliated with any criminality or mental illness. (Offices can in the future forego fingerprinting, for example, and be more open and comfortable settings.)
Cost-of-living Benefits paperwork one can fill out online or in-person also shouldn’t make one feel set apart for being poor.
Meanwhile, stores those receiving Benefits might frequent ought to be increasingly encouraged to be like ambassadors of healthy-by-design shopping, even as, overall, there is a push for more “economical” shopping to serve a median income.
Health care
There would also need to be immediate access to health care for all receiving services of any kind via continued development of holistic health care clinics, which are thorough, but serving basic health care needs, even as their physicians may opt to refer patients to specialists.
The clinics would include dentists and obgyns.
Medicines would include comprehensive and preventative, Ayurveda.
